The Pathetic Milky Way
5/2/2008 | Posted By Pastor Jeff Noblit
As preachers, we are required to preach so that the hearers will know all of Christ that He wants them to know until we see Him face to face. I am not talking about facts and figures, but spiritually dynamic truths and principles that we apply to our lives today. I am talking about knowing it so that you can make it incarnational into your life and heart in a deeper way.
The Danger of the Milky Way
4/24/2008 | Posted By Pastor Jeff Noblit
The enemies of the church often do not attack the way that we expect. They don’t just come in suddenly and abruptly, like dropping a bomb, and let their presence be known. They are much more slow and seductive. They often tend to take a gradual approach, much like a cancer in the body that grows undetected and far too often isn’t noticed until it’s too late. Today I want to expose one of these enemies of the church to you. I call this enemy the Milky Way.
A Most Worthy and Precious Condition
4/17/2008 | Posted By Pastor Jeff Noblit
Did you know that as a Christian you are in a most worthy and precious condition? That is why we are called to sometimes experience rejection and other persecutions. That is what Hebrews 11:38 is telling us. The writer of Hebrews spoke of those who had been persecuted by rejection and some martyred as, “men of whom the world was not worthy.” God’s point is that we are most worthy and precious to God, and the world is not worthy of our fellowship. The world’s rejection of us is actually a sovereign God’s judgment of them!
Shipping Upgrades

God has so graciously multiplied the requests for resources through our online store that we will soon have to begin adding shipping charges to each order. It’s important to note that we do not include handling charges, and the shipping amount you will be charged is the exact shipping cost of sending your order.
Along with internal office upgrades, your order delivery times should be greatly reduced! The new shipping charge policy will not take effect until April 16, 2008, so there are a few remaining days to shop at store.anchoredintruth.org.
Sprirtual Bonding in Small Groups
4/9/2008 | Posted By Pastor Jeff Noblit
Spiritual bonding is an essential part of Christian fellowship. Spiritual bonding must take place. Spiritual bonding does not just happen, but takes time and trust. In the context of a large church, such as First Baptist Church, bonding can prove difficult. In fact, often in a church of 100, spiritual bonding can be difficult. However, bonding which is essential, can take place whether you are in a church of 100 or in a church of 1000. This can happen through the ministry of Small Groups.

We’ve passed 100! We praise the Lord that Pastors continue to sign up for our Pastors Network and last week we surpassed 100 pastors in our network! This is exciting news. There are over 100 pastors and churches who desire to be connected and network together to see God glorified through the church. Please pray for these men and these churches. We pray that this network will be a tool that God will use to advance His kingdom!
Modeling 'the Walk' through Small Groups
4/3/2008 | Posted By Pastor Jeff Noblit
One key aspect to equipping through Small Groups is the Biblical principle of modeling. Within Small Groups we may model godly living to one another. We can model prayer to new believers. We can model evangelism to those who are timid. We can model a godly family to those who are newlyweds. Small Groups provides the intimacy and close fellowship that opens the door for modeling the Christian life to others.

Evangelism & Small Groups
3/28/2008 | Posted By Pastor Jeff Noblit
One way that every single member of the church can be a part of a team to share the Gospel with the lost is through the ministry of Small Groups. This ministry is evident in the New Testament. Acts 5:42 says, “And every day, in the temple and from house to house, they kept right on teaching and preaching Jesus as the Christ.” The Small Groups in Acts (“house to house”) were on a mission to preach and teach the Gospel of Jesus Christ. This should be our pattern today!
Our Theology Must Dictate Our Methodology
3/25/2008 | Posted By AIT
It is our desire to be thoroughly biblical in the totality of our lives. Our purpose, our methods, and our goals must be from sound, biblical teaching. We reject the modern concept that biblical goals can be achieved by man-centered, man-empowered methods. Our theology must dictate our methodology.
Blinded By Much Light

The overwhelming testimony from Scripture is that saving faith never stands alone, but is accompanied by lasting fruit. (John 15:16) Faith is not a one time ritual or event that happens in one’s life, but is something that remains present throughout the Christian’s life. Martin Luther and John Calvin are both credited as saying, “We are saved by faith alone, but the faith that saves is never alone!”
Christ-Centered
3/17/2008 | Posted By AIT
God is most glorified through the Person and work of His Son, the Lord Jesus Christ. By His unrivaled character and work (merit), He has redeemed for Himself a people (the Church). As His church, we strive above all things to know Him, love Him, praise Him, and serve Him. It is by, through, and for Him that we exist. It is our goal to keep Him the honored center of all that we say and do! ‘In all things He must have the preeminence’ (Colossians 1:18).
"Life" Must Be Organized
3/13/2008 | Posted By Pastor Jeff Noblit
Can organization be death? Yes. Does organization bring certain death? Absolutely not! We must pray and ask God to bless all of our endeavors with His power. Without the power of God within our church there will be inevitable death, but this does not mean that there cannot be organization. In fact, the opposite is true. If we want life within the church, we must have organization.
Recommended Book List

For some reading is laborious, boring, and frustrating. For others reading is exciting, joyful, and educational. In the life of a pastor, however, reading is vital. Pastors should be readers. If we want to continue to grow as Christians, church leaders, or as pastors, reading must maintain a priority in our lives. But it is not just enough to read. You have to read the right things. The Bible must obviously demand our devotion, but there are many great books that we can read and be challenged to grow.
An Organization for Spectators or an Organism for Ministry?
3/6/2008 | Posted By Pastor Jeff Noblit
Through small groups, every church member is enabled to minister. All are called to serve the body of Christ in one way or another. Small Groups is the vehicle that enables everyone to serve.
Glory of God Focused
3/3/2008 | Posted By AIT
“Man’s chief and highest end is to glorify God and to fully enjoy Him forever” (Larger Catechism). We have been created and redeemed by God and for God; therefore, our chief desire is to know Him and promote His glory in every circumstance of life and among all the peoples of the earth. “ . . . whatever you do, do all to the glory of God” (I Corinthians 10:30).
The Glory of God & Church Discipline

One primary way we glorify God is to make much of Him. One primary way we make much of Him is by obeying His precepts (His Word).

What's Going On?
There are times it would be nice to have a camera in the Anchored in Truth offices. It would be the only way to truly show all of the happenings, especially in the days leading up to a conference.
