Do not receive an accusation against an elder except on the basis of two or three witnesses. Those who continue in sin, rebuke them in presence of all, so that the rest also will be fearful of sinning.
Do not sharply rebuke an older man, but rather appeal to him as a father, to the younger men as brothers, the older women as mothers, and the younger women as sisters, in all purity.
Be on your guard! If your brother sins, rebuke him; and if he repents, forgive him.
He said to His disciples, “It is inevitable that stumbling blocks come, but woe to him through whom they come!
FOR THOSE WHOM THE LORD LOVES HE DISCIPLINES, AND HE SCOURGES EVERY SON WHOM HE RECEIVES.” It is for discipline that you endure…
“Better is a dry morsel and quietness with it
Than a house full of feasting with strife.
A servant who acts wisely will rule over a son who acts shamefully,
And will share in the inheritance among brothers.”
