Remember, O LORD, on David’s behalf, All his affliction;
And all these, having gained approval through their faith, did not receive what was promised, because God had provided something better for us, so that apart from us they would not be made perfect.
For those who say such things make it clear that they are seeking a country of their own. And indeed if they had been thinking of that country from which they went out, they would have had opportunity to return….
But remember the former days, when *, after being enlightened, you endured a great conflict of sufferings, partly by being made a public spectacle through reproaches and tribulations…
Now he who plants and he who waters are one; but each will receive his own reward according to his own labor. For we are God’s fellow workers; you are God’s field, God’s building.
