Pastoral Ministry to Pastors

Do not receive an accusation against an elder except on the basis of two or three witnesses. Those who continue in sin, rebuke them in presence of all, so that the rest also will be fearful of sinning.

His Darkness & Death

When the sixth hour came, darkness fell over the whole land until the ninth hour. At teh ninth hour Jesus cried out with a loud voice, “Eloi, Eloi, Lama Sabachthani?” which is translated, “My God, My God, why have You forsaken Me?”

Walking in the Light

This is the message we have heard from Him and announce to you, that God is Light, and in Him there is no darkness at all. If we say that we have fellowship with Him and yet walk in the darkness, we lie and do not practice the truth…

The Priority of Prayer

Is anyone among you suffering? Then he must pray. Is anyone cheerful? He is to sing praises. Is anyone among you sick? Then he must call for the elders of the church and they are to pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord;

Humility in Judging

Do not speak against one another, brethren. He who speaks against a brother or judges his brother, speaks against the law and judges the law; but if you judge the law, you are not a doer of the law but a judge of it.

Humility

But He gives a greater grace. Therefore it says, “God is opposed to the proud, but gives grace to the humble.” Submit therefore to God. Resist the devil and he will feel from you. Draw near to God and He will draw near to you.

Favoritism
Jeff Noblit

Show No Partiality

My brethren, do not hold your faith in our glorious Lord Jesus Christ with an attitude of personal favoritism…If, however, you are fulfilling the royal law according to the scripture, “You shall love your neighbor as yourself,” you are doing well. But if you show partiality, you are committing sin and are convicted by the law as transgressors…For judgment will be merciless to the one who has shown no mercy; mercy triumphs over judgment.

Practicing the Word, p.2

If anyone thinks himself to be religious, and yet does not bridle his tongue but deceives his own heart, this man’s religion is worthless. Pure and undefiled religion in the sight of our God and Father is this: to visit orphans and widows in their distress, and to keep onself unstained by the world.

Stages of Sin

Let no one say when he is tempted, “I am being tempted by God”; for God cannot be tempted by evil, and He Himself does not tempt anyone. But each one is tempted when he is carried away and enticed by his own lust. Then when lust is conceived, it gives birth to sin; and when sin is accomplished it brings forth death. Do not be deceived, my beloved brethren.

Armor of God
Jeff Noblit

How to Fight Sin

Finally, be strong in the Lord and in the strength of His might. Put on the full armor of God, so that you will be able to stand firm against the schemes of the devil. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the powers, against the world forces of this darkness, against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places.
